Trick-or-Treat

Happy Halloween! I have fond memories of trick-or-treating as a kid, but the best part was getting home and taking inventory of the treats that my sister and I collected. Although Resse's Peanut Butter Cups and Swedish Fish are delicious, here are some of my favorite grown-up confections:
  • La-Dee-Dahs: Handmade swirls of white chocolate nougat and sea salt caramel are dipped in dark chocolate. This is WAY better than a Milky Way!
  • Chicken Bones: These are a bit of a throwback. They remind me of the candies that my grandfather kept in a jar next to his favorite recliner. Despite the bizarre name, these are crunchy bites of peanut butter, butterscotch, and coconut are undeniably delicious.
  • Vosges Exotic Truffles (pictured): Using unique flavors like sweet Indian curry, green olives, and absinthe, these truffles are worth tasting! I also highly recommend Mo's Milk Bar. Bacon and chocolate? Yes, please!

Seasonal Scents

I’m not a huge fan of air fresheners or other smelly stuff. Instead, I prefer the real smells of home: fresh cut flowers, cookies in the oven, clean laundry, etc. That being said, I LOVE these White Barn Candle Co. candles. I’ve been blogging away to the scent of Pumpkin Carving, and I adore the scent of Leaves. It’s still a little early, but you can bet that as soon as Thanksgiving has passed, Fresh Balsam will be on my mantle.

If you want to try one out, you can find them at Bath and Body Works or simply click here.

Halloween is just days away, and in the spirit of this fun fall holiday I’ve collected some of my favorite pumpkin carvings from Pinterest. Get inspired!

Pumpkin Biscotti

It’s officially fall in Boston- the leaves are falling, the air is crisp, and sundresses have been traded for sweaters and scarves. On a cool fall day, there’s nothing better than curling up with a blanket, a warm drink (coffee for me) and some of this delicious biscotti. I used gluten-free flour in mine, but it will probably be even better with all-purpose flour. Enjoy!
