Think Green


Happy St. Patrick's Day! I'm starting today off with something green and delicious- a kalicious smoothie from Whole Foods. Packed with healthy greens like spinach and kale, this smoothie gets a little bit of sweetness and an extra boost of vitamins from apple, banana, and lemon.  If you're interested in making one at home, try this copy-cat recipe from That Organic Girl:

What You'll Need:
3-4 large kale leaves (removed from the center vein)
1 cup of spinach (packed down... get lots in there!)
1 1/2 cup of fresh apple juice (try to find some that's not from concentrate)
1/2 lemon, peeled
1 banana
8 ice cubes

Directions: 
  1. Put everything in a blender and blend to the consistency you like it. 
  2. Pour it into a glass and serve it with a straw. Cheers!
