The Salt Lick

BBQ is big in Texas, so it's only fitting that this post about delicious grilled meat be my first official Austin blog. That's right readers, I've officially moved from Boston to Austin. We're busy getting settled and moving in, but we're definitely going to take a break for a trip to The Salt Lick in Driftwood, TX.

Saddle up to a big wooden table outside, or beat the heat indoors, but either way, try the brisket! The Salt Lick's BBQ Brisket Sandwich with jalapenos is chef Bobby Flay's favorite sandwich, and once you taste it, you'll know why. If you're like me and skip the bread, you won't go hungry- each plate is served with generous portions of coleslaw, potato salad, beans and pickles. Make sure to get some extra sauce too- it's SO yummy.

Driftwood, TX is a bit of a drive, and you can find delicious BBQ in the city, but it's worth the trek if you're willing. See you there!
