Welcoming Wedding Guests

Whether you're planning a destination wedding or just hosting some out-of-town guests, it's nice to welcome your friends and family to the wedding weekend with a little treat. There's no need to go overboard, but a little something for them to dig into once they've arrived and checked into the hotel will let your guests know how much you appreciate their presence.

Stay local. For out-of-town guests, half the fun is exploring a new city! Share some local goodies and a map that will help them as they explore.

Keep it simple. There's no rule that you need to fill a giant bag with snacks- just give them a sweet treat and something fun. The picture above includes some caramels, sparkling water, some local ground coffee, and a fun map of the wedding festivities. I love that it's so curated- it feels like a special gift!

Pick the perfect packaging.  A cute reusable grocery tote will be useful after the wedding weekend, and the one pictured above is so perfect for a destination wedding in Mexico.

Include YOUR favorite things. This is your wedding weekend, so share something that makes you smile. It doesn't have to be edible to go into a welcome bag. Are there candles that you can't get enough of? A box of matches from your favorite restaurant? Hand lotion with a scent so heavenly that it makes you swoon? Include it!

Go with the overall theme. This monogrammed bag above is filled with everything Vermont-y. A golf ball and tee (presumably for a little pre-wedding tournament), some chocolates, wildflower seeds, and yummy snacks.

I'm looking forward to putting some of my favorite Austin goodies into some bags for our guests. I've already got a good list of stuff in mind, but I certainly appreciate suggestions!
